How to use the signature generator
- Pick Type to render your name in a handwritten font, or Draw to sign with your mouse, trackpad, or touchscreen.
- Choose a style (8 cursive fonts) and a color (black, blue, or dark blue — the realistic ones).
- Click Download PNG for a transparent image you can drop anywhere, or SVG if you need it vectorial for printing.
- Paste your signature into your PDF, email, Google Doc, or wherever you need it.
Is a signature image legally binding?
Honest answer : not on its own. A signature picture pasted into a PDF is the digital equivalent of photocopying your handwritten signature onto a contract — it's evidence of nothing by itself. There's no audit trail, no proof of intent, no timestamp, no IP address, no way to detect tampering.
For non-binding stuff (an internal memo, a fan letter, a casual document you and the other party already trust), it's perfectly fine. For a real contract — freelance work, NDA, lease, anything where money or legal obligations are at stake — you want a proper e-signature flow with :
- Proof of intent to sign (explicit consent, not just an image)
- Identity attribution (email, IP, user agent captured at sign time)
- Tamper-evident audit trail (cryptographic hash of the document at sign time)
- Timestamp from a trusted source (we use OpenTimestamps anchoring)
That's what makes a signature legally binding under the ESIGN Act (US federal), UETA (US states) and eIDAS (EU + UK). JustSignNow handles all of it for $7/mo flat unlimited.
Frequently asked questions
Is this signature generator really free?
Yes — no signup, no watermark, no "free for 7 days then we charge you". We built this as a marketing tool for our paid e-signature product, so use it as much as you want.
Does the PNG have a transparent background?
Yes. The downloaded PNG has a fully transparent background so it blends into any document, email signature, or PDF without an ugly white box around it.
What's the difference between PNG and SVG?
PNG is a regular image — works everywhere, fixed resolution. SVG is vectorial — scales infinitely without losing quality, ideal if you need to print at a large size or want to edit later in a vector tool. Most people want PNG.
Can I use this signature in JustSignNow?
Soon — we're wiring up a "save your signature" feature so logged-in users can re-use the same drawn or typed signature across documents. For now, signing in JustSignNow uses the typed-name flow with the same fonts.
Do you store my signature?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — your signature never touches our servers. The PNG is generated locally and downloaded directly. Reload the page and everything's gone.
